Robbed couple from The Hague flooded with statements of support from all over the country | Inland

The cowardly robbery of the bank card from the home of Rinus and Greet took place at the end of September, but this week the police released (clear) camera images of the suspects. It shows how two women withdraw money in four days at different locations in The Hague and Rotterdam and then go on an extensive shopping trip. There are also images of shopping, where the women have so much stuff with them that they can hardly be lifted.

Donation campaign

“What happened to this couple is in a word inhumane,” says ambulance brother Benno Knies (54) from Katwijk. “This couple has helped to build up the Netherlands and then they run off with the savings for their old age in this really outrageous way.” The native of The Hague is going to start a donation campaign: “With a little goodwill, these people can be compensated.”

Also in The Hague there is a lot of sympathy for the duped couple. “What a cowardly act,” says Richard de Mos of Hart for The Hague, who immediately started a donation campaign on Friday. The party is very concerned about the number of chat tricks in town. “A quarter of seniors are harassed by this,” said De Mos, who advocates a campaign aimed at prevention and recognizing chat tricks. “In addition, promote reporting.” In consultation with the family, a fundraising campaign has been started ‘to collect the necessary euros. “I hope that we will be able to collect the entire looted 6000 euros, so that these lovely people can go towards Christmas with a good feeling.”

‘Heart of stone’

A fundraising campaign has also started in Rijswijk. “Your heart cries when you hear this,” says Marc Weterings. “These perpetrators without any feeling in their bodies must be arrested and brought to justice as soon as possible.”

People on social media have nothing good to say about the thieving women. “Ladies who do this have hearts of stone,” writes one. “Unconsciously,” says the other.

The statements of support and actions do Rinus and Greet good. “My parents are moved and never expected this,” says their daughter Sylvia. “For the first time since the theft, they see a bit of a bright spot. We even spent the day putting up the Christmas lights. And my father was joking again, as we know him.”
