Number of patients in hospitals has risen sharply

For the third day in a row, the number of corona patients in Dutch hospitals is increasing. They are currently treating 1984 people because of Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. That is the highest number since February 10.

The number of corona patients in hospitals has increased by 73 last 24 hours. Since Saturday, the number of corona patients admitted has increased by 175.

The nursing wards now have 1,444 corona patients, 69 more than Monday, reports the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS). The pressure in intensive care is fairly stable. There are currently 540 people with Covid-19, four more than the previous day. That number has fluctuated between 500 and 550 for weeks.

Hospitals have admitted 280 new corona patients last 24 hours. That is the highest number since January 19. On the other hand, 207 corona beds have been released. It is not known how many of these patients recovered and how many died.
