The number of coronavirus infections in the municipality of Groningen has increased with 41 infections since Wednesday morning. This is evident from the latest figures from the RIVM, which were published on Thursday afternoon. In the rest of the province, another 76 new infections were found.
In the Ommelanden, the GGD found the most infections in the municipality of Westerkwartier (15). One resident of the Stadskanaal municipality was admitted to hospital because of COVID-19. In the same municipality, one person died from the virus.

In the whole of the Netherlands, 10,280 new infections were diagnosed, 2,162 more than yesterday. According to the RIVM, the large increase is due to a correction of the figures from Wednesday.
Nationally, 313 more new patients were admitted to hospitals. 32 deceased COVID patients have been reported to RIVM.
