RIVM reports 290 new corona infections in the region on Sunday. That is less than Saturday, when 330 new infections were reported. On Friday there were 395 infections, on Thursday there were 251. The seven-day average has risen to 307.

RIVM has not reported any new deaths since Saturday. In addition, no new regional members have been admitted to the hospital.
National figures
1694 new positive tests were reported to the RIVM until 10 a.m. on Sunday morning. That is 338 less than yesterday.
On average, the number of positive corona tests is also falling: in the past seven days, an average of 2015, positive tests were registered per day. That is 16 percent less than the seven days before.
In the hospitals, the occupancy increased slightly. There are now 559 people with corona in hospital (Saturday: 551), of whom 195 in the ICU (Saturday: 192), reports the National Coordination Center for Patients Spreading (LCPS).
3 deceased covid patients were reported to the RIVM. In the past seven days, RIVM recorded an average of 6 deaths a day, compared to 5 deaths a day a week earlier.
Fewer deaths are passed on to RIVM at the weekend. As a result, these figures are almost always lower on Sunday and Monday than in the rest of the week.

Which figures does Rijnmond use?
We use the figures that the RIVM publishes on this page every day at 3:15 pm. The figures come from the GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond and the GGD Zuid-Holland Zuid, but can deviate from the corona dashboard per day.
This can be for various reasons, for example the time at which the figures are entered and the fact that our region consists of two GGDs. Both GGDs have a different method for determining the daily figures. By using the same source every day, we have the best view of developments over several days and weeks.
