RI’s Corona Down In The Last 3 Weeks, But In These 14 Provinces It’s Even Rise

Spokesperson for the Handling Task Force COVID-19 Wiku Adisasmito said that over the past two weeks the positivity rate and the number of daily cases Corona in Indonesia decrease. However, the record of Corona cases in the country is still considered high.

It was recorded that in the period 12-18 July 2021, the positivity rate in Indonesia reached 30.72 percent with a case number of 350,273 people. Then in the period 19-25 July, the positivity rate was recorded at 27.38 percent with 289,029 cases.

Furthermore, in the period 26-1 August 2021, the positivity rate in Indonesia decreased again, which was 25.18 percent with a case number of 273,891 people.

“Hopefully the achievement of decreasing cases over the last two weeks can be a motivation so that in the future we will be more disciplined in implementing health protocols,” Wiku said at a press conference, Tuesday (3/8/2021).

However, Wiku explained that there are still several provinces in Indonesia that have experienced an increase in Corona cases in the last three weeks. The province is dominated by the island of Sulawesi.

“These provinces are dominated by the islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. Almost all provinces on the island of Sumatra are still showing an increase in the last three weeks,” he explained.

Wiku also asked the public not to be careless about the risk of transmission corona virus and remain disciplined in complying with health protocols. Then, he asked the local government whose areas experienced an increase in cases to immediately prepare health facilities.

“With cases still increasing in the last three weeks, it is necessary to anticipate and prepare all health facilities in their respective regions,” he said.

The following is a list of 14 provinces in Indonesia that have experienced an increase in Corona cases over the past few weeks.

1. North Sumatra

  • July 11-18 period: 5,933 cases
  • July 19-25 period: 7,528 cases
  • Period 26 July-1 August: 9,633 cases

2. West Sumatra

  • July 19-25 period: 4,353 cases

3. Riau

  • July 11-18 period: 5,814 cases
  • July 19-25 period: 6,000 cases
  • Period 26 July-1 August: 10,432 cases

4. Jambi

  • July 11-18 period: 2,225 cases
  • July 19-25 period: 1,855 cases
  • Period 26 July-1 August: 2,371 cases

5. South Sumatra

  • July 11-18 period: 4,987 cases
  • July 19-25 period: 4,272 cases
  • Period 26 July-1 August: 6,355 cases

6. Bengkulu

  • July 11-18 period: 1,959 cases
  • July 19-25 period: 1,606 cases
  • Period 26 July-1 August: 2,519 cases

7. Lampung
