Riot Games partners with ESPN for Valorant esports

Riot Games has partnered with ESPN for Valorant Esports.

As announced on the broadcaster’s website, the eight-team tournament runs from April 20 to 22. The event will be broadcast on ESPN’s Twitch channel.

Professional players from various games participated, including world champions such as Rainbow Six Siege Troy “Canadian” world champion Jaroslawski and Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham, reigning Counter-Strike champion.

Other participants include Fortnite World Cup finalist Harrison “Psalm” Chang.

Earlier this month, Riot drew blood from the game for esports to better attract broadcasters and sponsors. He also wants Valorant esports to “develop naturally”.

Originally known as Project A, the tactical shooter went into closed beta in early April, and the game has already broken audience records on Twitch. However, the game received a backlash on its anti-cheat software. Riot was forced to respond to user complaints.

The American firm offers cash rewards – up to $ 100,000 – to those who report people who have exploited its software. Valorant will launch completely this summer.
