Riga’s “Dinamo” unexpectedly announced on Thursday that cooperation with Russian specialist Sergei Zubov was suspended by mutual agreement. The head coach of the team has left the position due to family reasons.

“Indeed, this situation was quite a surprise to me, the coaching staff and the team yesterday morning. It could not be said that we do not suspect it, but that it will happen so suddenly and so fast now, it was really a surprise,” Buncis said.

“The coach showed this initiative in the morning. After listening to him and understanding the real situation, the club management agreed, accepted this mutual agreement and terminated the employment relationship,” said the general manager of “Dinamo” Riga.

Buncis could not comment on what happened in detail. He pointed out that the management of Riga “Dinamo” club understands and respects the coach’s decision. Zubov has gone to the USA, and his return to the Latvian team is not expected.

Valery Kulibaba, who has been one of Zubov’s assistants until now, has been appointed the head coach of the team.

There is no active search for a new coach at the moment, because first we need to understand where and in what situation the specialists are available and what the future is, because the championship does not stop and we have to move forward,” Buncis explained.
