SEB banka has provided EUR 3.3 million in financing for the construction of a new parcel processing terminal at the Riga International Airport by the real estate development and construction company SIA Castor Construction for the needs of the courier company DHL Latvia.

The decision on a new parcel processing terminal was made with the rapid growth of e-commerce to optimize and speed up the parcel sorting process in an automated sorting line.

The total construction costs of the terminal building are 6 million euros, of which SEB banka finances 3.3 million euros, while Castor Construction – 2.7 million euros.

Ints Krasts, a member of the Management Board of SEB banka, informs: This project is not among them. For us as a bank, this is the first development project we are financing at Riga Airport, so it is a new turning point for us to invest in similar projects in the future. “

Jānis Milzarājs, Member of the Board of Castor Construction, explains: “This is an important project not only for Castor Construction, but also for DHL Latvia and Riga International Airport, which in this difficult economic situation continues to move towards the set goal of building a terminal. with the office and the Latvian economy as a whole. The project is being implemented in cooperation with Finnish investors and thanks to cooperation with SEB banka, which provides financing. “

The implementation of the project was started in 2019, thanks to the cooperation of three companies – SIA “Castor Construction”, Riga International Airport and “DHL Latvia”. Starting its implementation during the year, it is planned to establish a new parcel processing terminal with an office area of ​​4,500 square meters.

SIA “Castor Construction” started operating in Latvia in 2007. Since its inception, the company has implemented more than 60 construction and development projects.
