Rick Wakeman, former keyboardist for the progressive rock band Yes, has declared his piano playing⁤ remains unaffected following recent ‍brain surgery. The musician shared the positive update while announcing his upcoming “Wakeman & Son” tour with⁤ his son, Oliver Wakeman, who previously ​filled his role in Yes.Wakeman ⁤underwent surgery earlier this year, prompting the postponement of his ‍initial “Strictly Wakeman” solo tour. The‌ 74-year-old musician expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support he received during his recovery, noting‍ the well‍ wishes “realy did mean a lot” to him. This news arrives as Wakeman prepares‍ to⁤ embark on a new⁢ tour format, collaborating with Oliver for the first time on stage.

The “Wakeman & Son” tour, set to begin next ⁣spring, will feature ⁣both musicians performing together.Rick Wakeman previously stated, “It’s ⁣always an honor for me to share the ⁢stage with one of⁣ my splendid children, and⁣ for the‍ first ⁤time, it’s a thrill to be ⁢actually doing a tour with my eldest son Oliver.” He jokingly added, “I ⁣know‍ it⁣ will be⁣ very special-especially if, ⁣on the odd occasion, he buys me​ dinner!!”
