Rhode Island Rallies Past New Hampshire 38-27 in Fourth-Quarter Comeback

KINGSTON, R.I.⁤ – Rhode⁤ Island‌ rallied from a⁢ 10-point deficit in the fourth​ quarter to defeat New Hampshire 38-27 on Saturday, securing a key CAA Football victory and boosting their record to 4-2. The Rams‘ offense ​exploded in ‌the final frame, scoring 21 unanswered points to overcome the ⁤Wildcats.

The win marks Rhode Island’s fourth of the⁣ season, continuing a‌ promising campaign under head coach Chris Smelley. This victory⁣ is particularly notable as the‌ Rams‌ navigate a competitive⁢ CAA conference and strive ‌for a potential ⁢FCS playoff berth. Trailing 27-17 entering the fourth quarter, Rhode Island quarterback Rory McDonald orchestrated the comeback. He connected with wide receiver ​Dave Sharpe for a 25-yard touchdown, cutting the‍ deficit to 27-24. Following a ⁢defensive stop, running back Ezekiel Kornegay powered into the ⁤endzone from 12 yards out, giving the Rams their first lead of the game at 31-27.
