The Bezirksblätter regionality award was given differently this year, but nonetheless appreciatively.
SALZBURG. The district papers Salzburg want to promote the regional economy and local initiatives that make our state even more livable. For this purpose, the district papers have been awarding the regional award for eleven years. Once a year – in October – winners in twelve categories are selected from tens of submissions and honored at a large party with guests of honor from politics and business. Unfortunately, due to the Corona regulations, no major award ceremony could take place this year with all the award winners. A complete cancellation of the award was not an option for the district newspapers. The winners were identified and individually invited to the respective “prize sponsors”. In an exclusive setting, the winners were honored and the “salt hearts” (trophies) handed over to their new owners.
Governor invited
The prizes in the categories “Economy & Services” and “Tourism & Gastronomy”, for example, were presented by Governor Wilfried Haslauer (ÖVP) in the Chiemseehof. “The Covid crisis in particular has shown us how important regionality is. I always find it amazing how many people in the country develop exciting projects with commitment and initiative. This is precisely why such prizes are good for bringing these people to the curtain and also to encourage them to carry on, “says the governor.
–Salzburg is so diverse
Regional prizes were also presented in the offices of the regional councilors as well as in the Raiffeisen headquarters and at Salzburg AG. “The regional award shows us every year how diverse the initiatives and projects are in our state,” said Deputy Governor Heinrich Schellhorn (Greens) in his laudatory speech.
