Weekend Snow Forecast
Review of Snow Forecast
The anticipated snowfall for this weekend turned out to be considerably less than expected. Instead of the predicted 1 to 5 inches, only a coating to a couple of inches fell. We will provide a review of the forecast later this morning in a new article.
The Original Forecast
The snow ended between 3 and 4 a.m., resulting in a relatively small amount of snowfall. However, a weekend day with some fresh snow is always appreciated, albeit with windy conditions.
Weather Updates
Today
- Early snowflake possible. Clearing, gusty. Highs: Near 40 to low 40s.
Tonight
- Mainly clear and cold. Lows: Upper teens to mid-20s.
Tomorrow
- Mostly sunny, breezy. Highs: Mid-40s to near 50.
The snowfall will quickly diminish, and some snow showers may be seen in the couple of hours after sunrise. However, considering the chilly temperatures and increasing sun exposure, the snow will likely not last in areas where it accumulates on the ground.
Today (Saturday)
Breaks in the clouds are expected as the day progresses, with some snow showers or flurries possible until 8 or 9 a.m. Gusty winds will be a prominent feature, making it a good day for sledding. Highs are estimated to reach near or slightly above 40. Wind speed will be around 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 or 35 mph. The forecast is relatively reliable.
Tonight
The winds will subside, and skies will remain clear. Due to a chillier air mass and residual snow, tonight will be quite cold. Lows are expected to be in the upper teens to mid-20s.
Tomorrow (Sunday)
The day will be mostly sunny and milder, with highs in the 40s to near 50. However, gusty winds will continue, this time coming from the southwest. Some gusts around 20 or 25 mph are possible.
Tomorrow Night
The night is likely to remain clear, and temperatures will drop to the 20s, even in the lowest-temperature areas.
Presidents’ Day on Monday is expected to be pleasant, with plenty of sunshine and temperatures reaching the upper 40s to near 50. Tuesday is likely to be slightly warmer, possibly with a few more passing clouds.
Daily Snow Potential
The likelihood of at least 1 inch of snow in the coming week is assessed on a scale of 0 to 10.
1/10: The upcoming week is expected to be calmer, but there is a chance of a mild winter storm on Friday, which is worth monitoring.
