REVIEW: Lament over the parish end. Corpus Christi reminds us that the company has become completely prejudiced Culture

PRAGUE Corpus Christi has been screened in Czech cinemas since last week, and the Poles sent it out last year to fight for the Oscar. It can be seen as a parable about a society that necessarily needs to be refreshed, but at the same time such a stimulus of rejection.

A new, very young priest was entering the Polish parish. His experienced predecessor is in the hospital, so the arrest is thrown straight into the water. He is a little embarrassed in the form of formalities and how to approach his duties. But soon he realizes that when he lets his heart and heat boil, the people will incline to his side.

He can address the young, because he is one of them in all respects, and thanks to his sincerity and empathy, he is able to win over the old ones, to break their bigotry, encapsulation and hypocrisy. It even seems that his unorthodox approach could alleviate the pain of a tragic car accident, which claimed the lives of a group of young people and continue to go outside in the village.

All this is one check: as a spectator, we know that Daniel is only twenty, the previous years he spent in juvenile law and probably something bad enough for him, because of that another inmate wants to marry you. He came to the west of the village to join a long coffin, which employed young people like him.

The curative coincidence led to the fact that he could still pretend to be a parish, but so that he is fully authentic, known for the fact that he became a priest. But as he learned from his otherwise greedy and inspiring spiritual leader, this path is hopelessly closed to him because of his criminal past. Falen’s identity, in which he can hardly laugh for a long time, gives him two main opportunities to fulfill his desire and carry out his mission. Is it possible for him to do so for a time or for the first time, because he does not have official priestly training, was he not formed by routine, subordination and dogmas and, above all, only what can be believed and truthful?

Such a question is posed by the audience in his third film, the inconspicuous Polish director Jan Komasa, who six years ago aroused in Poland, but also elsewhere a heated discussion with his emotionally tense (and connected) drama about the Warsaw Uprising. Msto 44. And snmku Body of Christ he set out on the path of much chamber pbhu in his community, but even here he did not give up provocative ostentation.

Thanks to that, you can’t make a movie Body of Christ Definitely upright expressiveness: even with the blessing of a dozen visions and the dynamic acting of Bartosz Bielenia in the role of Daniel, he leaves an unforgettable experience. At the same time, the film (inspired by the real event) is full of the same variables in a coin: a naive young man with a limited view is able to speak like a book in a moment of enlightenment, with deep wisdom and life experience. The community of traditional things will immediately be thrilled by his exhibitions and see in them a flash of true contact with God; a cheer when Daniel announces that the kingdom will be a furnace here on earth. Even a tragic car accident in the village is so controversial and impossible, especially because the cars need it.

That a go bag doesn’t mean it’s over the movie Body of Christ it was not about thinking about it, especially when we would see it as a parable. We do not have to look to Daniel’s talent for the wasted potential as Jan Komasa, but the fact that today’s society, even the non-religious Czech, is full of prejudice, stiffness and intolerance, can never be remembered.
