This year, Dutch food bank board member Freek Wessels saw a 30 percent increase in the number of families visiting the food bank for groceries. According to Wessels, this is due to the corona pandemic. “Certainly with the holidays approaching, we can use all the help very well. Since the outbreak of corona, we have seen more and more people knocking on our door, and I fear that number will only increase.”
