Jakarta

Final figures for cost overruns or cost overruns in the project Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train expected to come out in the near future. The cost of the project is currently under review by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

“This week it should have been final at BPKP, because with the Ministry of SOEs there has been a final meeting. So the cost overrun mechanism is a proposal from KCIC, actually KCIC’s proposal has been around for a long time,” said President Director of PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi at the Ask d’Boss . event detik.com as written, Monday (4/4/2022).

He revealed that the project initially swelled with a value of US$ 2 billion or around Rp. 28.6 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 14,300). Then, by cooperating with a number of consultants, this cost overrun can be reduced to US$ 1.675 billion or around Rp. 24 trillion.

“In the past, we entered it at US$ 2 billion. Then, we were asked to evaluate with several consultants, we discussed with PwC and others, the figure came up with US$ 1.675 billion. That is also in the process of asking BPKP for a review through the Ministry of SOEs. We also make corrections,” he said.

After the figures come out, he continued, the Ministry of SOEs will report to the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan as the head of the Committee for the Fast Train Between Jakarta and Bandung for further decision making.

“This is being discussed with the Ministry of SOEs, the mechanism is that the Ministry of SOEs will report to the High Speed Train Committee led by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, only after that it will be decided from the Indonesian side,” he explained.

Apart from the swelling, he said, the investment value of this project is around US$ 6 billion.

“US$ 6 billion, yes, the EPC contract is US$ 4 billion. Around Rp 86 trillion,” he said.
