Return to classes in Sinaloa will be in mixed mode – El Sol de Mazatlán

Culiacán, Sin.- Without haste, but without pause, is how the back to school in Sinaloa, in a mixed scheme in the schools that have the conditions to receive 50 percent of the students.

This was confirmed by Secretary of Public Education and Culture, Juan Alfonso Mejía López, who indicated that parents who still do not feel safe sending their children are free to choose the online class scheme.

“This leads us to a system in some cases face-to-face and in others at a distance, then we will maintain the two viabilities, this leads us to a hybrid system”, express.

He explained that each of the schools will determine the days on which face-to-face and virtual classes will be given, that is, teachers can have classes in classrooms for a week and the next online, or choose the days of the week for each modality.

In the classrooms, the capacity will be 50 percent and if there are 30 students in a room, but there is enough space to respect the healthy distance (1.5 meters), they can all return.

“With this what I want to say, above all, that all return to the classrooms here in Sinaloa will be calm (…), I cannot imagine a return from one day to the next where we are all”, stressed.

In the event that a parent changes his mind during the school year and decides to send his child to school, he may do so, as long as 50 percent of the capacity is maintained.

The grades where it is sought to give higher priority, he said, are third grade, so that students reinforce their basic knowledge such as reading; first year of secondary school, as it is the year in which there are more cases of school dropout and first and second year of preschool.

Teachers will be given the health protocols to follow through the page www.sepyc.gob.mx, just as they did with the Community Learning Centers (CCA).

He recalled that, in the CCA, they had the opportunity to keep 26,000 students in schools, 2,600 teachers returned, 935 schools reopened and there were only 1.7 percent of infections.

The Secretary of Public Education and Culture acknowledged that given the crisis situation that he has faced, they cannot pretend that in 10 days the teachers are going to recover learning, hence, that learning is going to be rethought for the entire year.

“This means that a child who is in third grade, we are aware that he stopped going to first grade in March and probably never had contact in person during the entire second year of primary school, sometimes he got online, some were even disengaged, but by law they go to third party ”, precise.

In the case of teachers who suffer from a comorbidity, but have already been vaccinated, he commented that at the federal level the health guidelines force teachers to return to have the dose, however, in the state they will find mechanisms so that they are not punish them and continue with the online classes.

Mejía López, stressed that with the new SEP guidelines there could be a change in the operation of schools according to the epidemiological traffic light, a document that they are waiting to be issued in the coming days.
