After driving F1 unworthy times in the morning due to a complete lack of grip, they drove faster in the afternoon. Addressing the medium and soft belts in turn helped. On those soft tires, Max Verstappen was four tenths faster than anyone else, so he also finished the second session fastest.
Charles Leclerc came closest to the Dutchman, followed by both Mercedes of Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton respectively. They gave five tenths and eight tenths on also soft belts. Alexander Albon clocked fifth fastest at a full second of his Red Bull teammate.
