Restaurants and shoppers face a new problem

Another opening after another closing – from the beginning of the week restaurants and bars will be able to accept customers in indoor areas at 50% of capacity.

Cultural events are also allowed, but with 30% audience in the halls.

Restaurateurs and shopkeepers told Bulgaria on air that the third wave of the coronavirus cost them dearly.

“It is important for us to keep the profession – waiter, bartender, chef, hostess, because every closure costs us a lot, because we lose staff, valuable staff and destroy the profession,” said Pavlin Petrov of the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants.

After the next opening, however, there is a new problem – no staff, as the sector has become one of the most insecure.

“Anything that closes and relies on aid leads to laziness and drowsiness in business,” Petrov added.

There is a shortage of staff, not only in restaurants, but also in retail outlets in malls, which will open on April 16.

And in case of a possible new closure, the Bulgarian Retail Association (BRA) is ready for more extreme actions.
