Two parked cars went up in flames tonight on the Top Naeffstraat in Slotermeer. Most likely it is arson. It is striking that the day before yesterday a car was on fire in the same street.

Two fires started at around 9:15 pm tonight. A photo of a resident of the street shows that there is a few meters between the two cars, but that they are on fire at the same time. The fire brigade has now extinguished the fire, but the damage is extensive.
Can’t be saved
Last Monday evening it was also a car parked in the street. The fire started around 9 p.m. This car was also beyond salvation.
“We thought from the first day before yesterday that it could be an accident,” the resident told AT5. “But this is deliberate. Am quite shocked by this. I hope the police will catch the culprit, because this is not possible.”

Top Naeffstraat is a small street adjacent to Lodewijk van Deysselstraat. The municipality has in that street and in a number of surrounding streets camera surveillance set up because of groups of young people who cause nuisance and crime. CCTV surveillance in the Lodewijk van Deysselbuurt was closed in February extended see you early next year.
The police are investigating the three car fires.
