The corona crisis is affecting more and more people in vulnerable situations. That is why in Ninove and Geraardsbergen there will be a “reporting center for vulnerable situations”. The aim of the reporting center is to provide extra support for corona patients with a serious social, language or cognitive problem, because the GPs are not always assured that those people are prescribed The general practitioner must first obtain the patient’s permission to register him / herself, after which a social worker provides social assistance. Mayor Guido De Padt van Geraardsbergen and his colleague Tania de Jonge van Ninove are satisfied that efforts are being made to prevent some people from slipping through the social net.
