Reporte Indigo: Alfaro and Castañeda of GDL Power Networks in New York

Coincidence or not, but the fact is that since yesterday two EMECistas from Jalisco have been in New York, although with very different agendas: on the one hand, the governor, Enrique Alfaro Ramírez, who traveled to participate in the Conference of Nations Nations on Water 2023; and on the other, Senator Clemente Castañeda Hoeflich, who was invited to present his vision of the Mexican political scene at Columbia University.

As of this Monday, the governor, Alfaro Ramírez, began to have official activities in New York, although the Conference will formally take place from March 22 to 24.

While the senator from Jalisco wrote on his social networks: “Today I will speak with students from Columbia University in New York, about the political landscape in Mexico and the militarization of the national security strategy.”

As announced by the state government, the delegation that accompanies the governor is made up of: Patricia Martínez Barba, director of the Institute for Planning and Development Management of the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara (Imeplan); Jorge Gastón González Alcérreca, Secretary of Comprehensive Water Management; Abel Salgado Peña, head of the Federal Liaison and International Affairs Unit; Alejandra Ayo, Director of Planning of the General Strategic Coordination of Land Management; and María Macías, Director of Strategic Planning and Performance Monitoring of Imeplan.

What does that mean? Well, the governor, Alfaro Ramírez, and the senator, Castañeda Hoeflich, are both on New York soil and very, very far from all the other “corcholatas” of Movimiento Ciudadano who aspire for the candidacy for the governorship of Jalisco. What are these two emecistas talking about in those latitudes?

Invitation to Jalisco

The government of Alfaro Ramírez, assured that the invitation for Jalisco to be part of this international event, came from Henk Ovink, who serves as Special Envoy for Water Management and Infrastructure of the Netherlands, and as host of the Water Conference of the UN 2023. The projects that the Jalisco authorities will present are: “Let’s revive the Santiago River” and the Comprehensive Water Management Agenda called “Water for the Future”, from which the “Water Resilience Agenda of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area” stems. (AMG)” and the program “Nidos de Lluvia”.
