Ikea presents its first “small format” store in the United States

On January 11, 2021, Ikea announced the opening of its new “small format” store located in Queens, New York, at the Rego Center Mall. With an area of ​​more than 1000 square meters, this point of sale is the first in the United States to present the new concept of small format which focuses on digital tools, products adapted to the homes of New Yorkers and to the sustainable development. This store is Ikea’s third in New York.

Customers can buy and take their purchases or have bulky products delivered. They can also make an appointment or discuss their kitchen, dressing room projects with the store employees.

In addition to self-service payment options, the brand has implemented effective in-store sanitary measures. As part of Ikea’s global commitment to sustainability, the company aims to achieve 100% of last mile deliveries to New York via electric vehicle by year-end.
