Due to the corona virus pandemic, it is known that all Apple stores outside of the Greater China area are currently closed. It is obvious that no goods can be bought on site. Now there is another side effect of this necessary measure. There are currently devices in Apple’s repair shops around the world that are waiting for their owners. However, since the shops are now closed, there is no way to return the devices.

Devices that are not picked up remain in the Apple Stores

Apple allowed customers two days to pick up the repaired devices. Unfortunately, not all customers managed to pick up their iPhones, iPads or Macs in this time frame.

Like the company opposite Business insider confirmed, there is no longer any possibility to hand over the devices:

“We have tried every possible way to get people’s products back to them. There are people who, for whatever reason, didn’t pick up their products before we had to close. Your products are now in our stores. “

Apple is taking a different route for devices that have been sent to a repair center. Typically, these devices are returned to a nearby Apple Store for collection. Apple is now trying to contact the owners so that these devices can be sent directly to them.

The Apple Stores are closed “until further notice” without a specific reopening date. Apple also had one recently Information page published regarding the closure. Among other things, it says that Apple will contact customers if their device is still under repair. The FAQ also mentions that the return period for devices purchased from the Apple Store is extended to 14 days after the reopening. The return period was therefore paused. Even if the FAQ refers to the US market, it can be assumed that Apple will do the same in this country.
