Because our children can with impunity and without particular dangers crowd the beaches, clubs, squares of the nightlife, the gardens for the little ones, the swimming pools, the playgrounds, and they are all so afraid of the classrooms.
I don’t understand why the classrooms should be 60 square meters, when there are usually not enough bathrooms in schools, if there are bathrooms there are no doors, there is no soap and toilet paper. There are no gyms, there is not enough ventilation, there are no classrooms for study and libraries. Where do they live in the ministry?
I don’t understand why students, and only in Italy, raise so many anguished questions about safety, when they live promiscuity by choice and necessity: try to get on any bus in Rome, and check if there are spaced places, disinfection of the seats, amuchina available, if everyone has a mask, if there are controls, if the drivers have the possibility to close the doors in case of full seats or even to object if a passenger gets on without a mask (there is a risk of lynching) . Because studying should be dangerous. And going to work, falling back on a smart working for life that should be a choice, not an obligation. A possibility, to favor families with small children, for example, not to insinuate into employers the thought that it is a preferential route for dismissal or pre-employment.
I don’t understand why the whole school year ended with clear, immediate measures, while the reopening in September is an announced Caporetto. I do not understand what those who perceive the citizenship income do, if they cannot be usefully employed as janitors, since there are not enough of them, in the control of transport, villas, cleaning the streets, disinfecting cockroaches, mice and seagulls, which will not bring Covid, but other diseases, yes.
I don’t understand why you can nudge yourself in supermarkets, queue at post offices, medical offices, get on trains and planes and be afraid of school desks.
I don’t understand, and I don’t adapt. Because stability, crisis, stability, etc. cannot justify every lack, every approximation, every postponement, every lie. With fear you don’t govern, you keep going, and it’s a sad sight, as long as we adapt to being spectators.
PS I recommend a tour to the minister in the notorious peer schools: usually they are clean, spacious, well-kept structures, the bathrooms have a drain that works, and perhaps there they can discover some classrooms of 60 m2. Before occupying barracks and social centers (ah no, those never!) Maybe he could take care of making them survive.
