Reopening of billiards and wedding events in NY announced and return of movie theaters in NYC – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – After months of closure, New York has begun a reopening process due to the decrease in hospitalization rates and cases related to COVID-19.

For this reason, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that movie theaters in New York City and billiards across the state will be able to reopen from March 5, but with some restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

OPENINGS FROM MARCH 5:

Movie theaters in New York City:

  • Theaters can only have 25% capacity with no more than 50 people per room.
  • People should wear their masks all the time except when eating or having a drink.
  • Physical distancing between groups that do not go together is mandatory.

  • Theaters ventilation must meet the parameters.
  • This action allows New York City movie theaters to join the rest of the state movie theaters that were reopened earlier.

Billiard rooms:

  • Venues are restricted to 50 percent of capacity outside of New York City and to 35 percent of capacity in New York City
  • Masks will be required at all times, except when eating or drinking.
  • Physical distancing must be enforced or physical barriers installed between customer / player groups.
  • Each game should be assigned to a table to avoid confusion.
  • Staff must rigorously clean and disinfect any equipment rented or shared between uses.

Weddings and events with catering:

• Venues are restricted to 50 percent capacity, with no more than 150 people per event.

• All clients must be tested for COVID-19 prior to the event.

• Obtain the necessary contact information to help with possible contact tracing.

• Venues must notify local health departments of large events, above the social gathering limit, in advance.

• Masks will be required at all times, except when eating or drinking.

• Ceremonial and social dances with distancing are allowed, but only under strict guidelines.
