This year, Renault has expanded the Mégane model line with a completely new model. It is called Mégane E-Tech Electric and it is a crossover with exclusively electric drive, which may indicate the further direction of this series. Shortly before the end of the year, the car reveals Czech prices.
They will start at an interesting amount of 890,000 crowns for electric cars, which applies to the variant with an electric motor with an output of 96 kW and batteries with a capacity of 40 kWh. You will be able to charge either 22kW AC or 85kW DC.
Mégane E-Tech Electric is thus more available than one of the potential rivals on the market. A similarly large Volkswagen ID.3 costs from 990,900 crowns, for the Pro version with an electric motor with an output of 107 kW and batteries with a capacity of 58 kWh.

But who would not be enough, there will be a stronger derivative with an electric motor with an output of 160 kW and a battery with a capacity of 60 kWh, which can be charged with direct current with an output of up to 130 kW. The prices of such a Mégane E-Tech Electric start at 1,010,000 crowns.
It is the stronger design that seems to play a leading role in sales. It will be available in three trim levels (Equilibre, Techno and Iconic), while it is weaker only in the basic version of Equilibre. However, the equipment of individual specifications will be published.
Orders for Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric will open on February 1, 2022.
Renault Mégane E-Tech Electric is a 4.21 meter long crossover, which stands on a completely new foundation, in the form of a CMF-EV platform developed for the needs of electric cars. The specialty is a synchronous electric motor with a wound rotor, which provides better performance than when using permanent magnets and does without precious metals to reduce costs and environmental impact during production. In addition, the batteries are ultra thin, only 11 cm high.
