Bola.net – There is one embarrassing moment that will always be a blemish in a football star’s long career, Cristiano Ronaldo. At one time, he pocketed a goal which was the decisive victory of the opponent.
As you know, Ronaldo has had a career in professional football for 18 years. His career began when Sporting Lisbon wrote his name in the core squad in the 2002/03 season.
Ronaldo’s name increasingly heard when he decided to join the British giant, Manchester United. In the period of six seasons, he contributed a total of 118 goals from 292 appearances in all competitions.
Ronaldo’s consistency in scoring continued as he strengthened Real Madrid in 2009, even more so. The man from Portugal scored 450 goals in 438 appearances in nine seasons.
And although he is no longer young, Ronaldo remains a mainstay for Italian giants Juventus, who have been strengthened for the past two seasons. Now, Ronaldo has bagged 60 goals from 83 appearances.

A total of 633 goals have been recorded by Ronaldo since entering the Sporting Lisbon core squad. Some of them are created with a beautiful process. Like his goal when facing Juventus in the Champions League stage in 2017.

Chronology of Events
That moment happened when Ronaldo was still strengthening Real Madrid, precisely in 2013. In the La Liga match, Real Madrid met Granada at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.
Granada get a chance to execute a corner kick in the 22nd minute. Gabriel Torje who became the executor kicked the ball toward the pole near Real Madrid’s goal.
Ronaldo came down to help the defense. When the corner kick has been executed, the ball is heading towards him and he wants to cut the pass to avoid reaching the Granada player who is thronging the Madrid penalty box.
Nahas, Ronaldo’s header ball actually slid into the Real Madrid goal and failed to anticipate the goalkeeper, Diego Lopez. In the end, Granada managed to beat Real Madrid with a score of 1-0 until the match ended.

Ronaldo Selfish Player? Think Again
Obviously, this is an embarrassing moment for Ronaldo. This is a stain that makes Lionel Messi fans have a grip in order to mock and humiliate the 35-year-old man.
But there is a positive side that can be picked from this ‘stain’. If anyone thinks that Ronaldo is a selfish player, it might be worthwhile to rethink. This incident proved that Ronaldo was ready to help the team in any situation, including when he had to go down to the defense.
Lionel Messi may never have recorded an own goal in his entire career. But please note that the man from Argentina rarely operates in his own defense territory, rather than helping the defense.
