Reliance to set up world’s largest zoo in Gujarat Reliance | Largest Zoo | Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has announced plans to launch the world’s largest zoo. The zoo will be located in Jamnagar, Gujarat. It is claimed to be home to hundreds of species of animals, birds and reptiles from India and the world.

Anand Ambani, the youngest son of Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani, is the owner of the zoo. According to national media reports, the zoo will be set up on 280 acres next to the refinery project at Moti Khawi in Jamnagar. Moti Khavi has the largest oil refinery in the world. The senior executive of the company said that the project is long due to Kovid and will be open to the public within two years.

The project will be called ‘Greens Zoological, Rescue and Rehabilitation Kingdom’. RIL Director (Corporate Affairs) Parimal Natwani said that all the required documents have been received from the Central and State Governments. The zoo will have sections on Forest India, Frog House, Insect Life, Dragons Land, Exotic Island and Aquatic Kingdom.

Soumitra Dasgupta, Additional Director-General, Ministry of Environment and Forests, said that the zoo in the private sector is not new in India and already has a zoological garden in Kolkata. It is already known that Reliance has an interest and passion for wildlife conservation. Soumitra Dasgupta said the zoo is expected to be a model of private participation in wildlife conservation.
