Relax at the very tip of Poland, or enjoy the Tatras for non-climbers

This summer it feels like going to Zakopane, a mountain resort town Poland in the south, everyone drives – wherever you go, some ask for advice, others give suggestions. And this is understandable, because the Tatra are the closest “real” high mountains to us, moreover, combined with Poland the most pleasant prices are also economically more pleasant than Alps Germany, of Italy or Austrian half.

During the pandemic, they took the child to Latvia and Estonian for the highest peaks, Gaizinu and Munamegi, we wanted to show the real mountains. The kind that can be described in the words of the poet Klav Ellsberg: “They don’t jump. They column.” Big, monumental, eternal.

It is almost 1100 kilometers from Riga to Zakopane – 13 and a half hours on the way. Theoretically, you can leave “in one stretch”, especially since most of the road on the Polish side is on a comfortable and empty (and free!) highway. However, there is only one driver in our family, and in order for him not to perish, we spent the night at the midpoint both on the way there and on the way back. Ours trip took place during St. John’s week.

The first thing that interests motorists today is gasoline prices. In this sense, Poland was happy because fuel costs around 8 zlotys per liter (1.70 euros). If the car is economical and “eats” around 4-5 liters per 100 km, then you can drive quite profitably.
