The fatal victim of the traffic accident was identified as Elías Galeano, 22, who was riding a motorcycle on Santísimo Sacramento Avenue in Asunción. The man died after colliding directly with a car.
According to closed circuit images, the driver of the Chevrolet brand car was driving along Sacramento Avenue and upon reaching the intersection with Teniente Molinas, he turned left, coming out of the way of the motorcyclist.
The driver of the bicycle, who did not have a protective helmet, could no longer stop his march, due to the fact that he was traveling at high speed, and hit the left door of the car squarely.
The driver of the car would be a worker from an alternative platform. The same was delayed and available to the Prosecutor’s Office after giving a negative breathalyzer test.
Agent Jacinto Benítez from the 12th Metropolitan Police Station, pointed out that there is no sign on the site that restricts turning to the left.
