After negotiating his departure from Detroit, Reggie Jackson chose to join the Clippers’ armada three weeks before the season’s suspension. The leader was only able to play 9 games with his new team and did not really have time to look for a house or an apartment to land.
The season was suspended while he was still living at the hotel. And even though he thought of going back to Michigan to take advantage of better facilities and even of a chef who could have concocted his favorite dishes, Reggie Jackson finally stayed at the hotel for many weeks, only going out to run, ride a bike… or squat on the land outside of Paul George’s property that he did not occupy.
“I bothered him so I could go there and just be able to shoot on an outdoor field from time to time, » he reminded the LA Times. « It was kind of my only way to work basketball. There weren’t really any rules or constraints, but it allowed me to maintain my sanity. ”
Sauna, music or meditation to pass the time?
After traveling across the United States for the resumption of the season, Reggie Jackson is back at the same point, at the hotel! A situation that begins to tire him but that he accepts in view of the exceptional circumstances.
“I’m not going to lie, I don’t think anyone appreciates these kinds of circumstances, but I accepted it, “Added Reggie Jackson. ” I have to be there. I went through everything and followed the same instructions as everyone else to do something I love to do, that is to say play basketball. I like this “.
If he is bored in his hotel room, Reggie Jackson can still squat the transportable sauna imported by his teammate Montrezl Harrell, “An avant-garde”, he underlines, the material intended for the musical production of Lou Williams, or quite simply to indulge in a new passion which allows him to put things into perspective: meditation.
“Meditation just brings me a healthy mind, ” he added à Sports Illustrated. « I am at peace when I am in the field. I don’t really see things as good or bad, I just accept things as they are. I just listen to the inner self. It’s like a dialogue with yourself, you really realize where you are. I feel calmer, I feel more awake, more alert. I want to continue living in this area ”.
