Regal Cinemas to close in Miami Beach and Boca Raton

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Regal Cinemas announced Friday that the days are numbered for South Beach Stadium 18 and Imax in Miami Beach.

The franchise also reported that Shadowood 16 in Boca Raton will close.

They are just two of the nearly 40 Regal theaters announced that they will end operations in the United States.

The decision comes a few months after parent company Cineworld filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, after the pandemic devastated the entire industry.

Regal Cinemas is the second largest theater chain in the US after AMC Theatres.

According to their website, there are still 500 active Regal theaters.

• Meadows Stadium 12 in Littleton, Colorado

• SouthGlenn Stadium 14 in Centennial, Colorado

• Shadowood 16 in Boca Raton, Florida

• South Beach Stadium 18 e Imax en Miami Beach, Florida

• Estadio Keauhou 7 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
