Once again setting the standard in its class and the first model to bear the new Peugeot logo, the new 308 has earned many accolades since the day it was introduced. Founded in Germany in 1955, the new 308, which was founded in Germany in 1955 and has become the brand of the best designs worldwide, succeeds the winner of this prestigious 2022 (WWCOTY) Car of the Year (WWCOTY) award. The new Peugeot 308, which took first place in the Automotive category, impressed the jury with its charisma, unique style, build quality and innovative i-Cockpit.
Commenting on the award, Linda Jackson, CEO of Peugeot, said: “We are proud to have received the Red Dot Design Award with the Peugeot 308. While the new logo symbolizes the interest and passion for design, the logo design expresses concepts such as originality, attractiveness, craftsmanship, technological excellence and innovation. Winning the prestigious product design award means we made the right choice when designing our new car.”
Since its introduction in late 2021, the new Peugeot 308 has won 11 international awards, including the Red Dot Design Award, while the 2008 Peugeot 208 and SUV won in 2020, the 3008 SUV in 2017, the Traveler in 2016 and the first generation 308 in 2014. It won the Museum Red Dot Product Design Award for the seventh time with the new 308, following the SW and RCZ Coupé models in 2010.
While the new 308 was the first to sport the new Peugeot logo, which was integrated into the honeycomb front grille fabric and elegantly concealed radar and sensors, it managed to impress the jury with its dynamic design. However, the vertical light signature at the front is complemented by Matrix LED headlights which ensure greater efficiency and safety in everyday life. The three-claw LED rear lights reflect the brand identity.
The cabin offers a unique visual appearance with its PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® 3D (digital display above the compact steering wheel), new intuitive touchscreen for smartphone experience and configurable i-Toggles below. The AGR-certified seats with various adjustment possibilities set the difference in the class with their advanced ergonomics, while the LED ambient lighting (eight color options) and the door panels in Alcantara® or real aluminum parts, depending on the level of equipment, complete the interior.
