An unexpected development has emerged in Brazil, as the open world game Red Dead Redemption 2 has been rated for the Nintendo Switch. This surprising rating has led to speculation that the game could be on the verge of an official release on Nintendo’s popular handheld console.
Although there has been no official announcement regarding a Nintendo Switch version of Red Dead Redemption 2, the Brazilian Classification Council’s rating raises the possibility of a release in the near future. This news follows leaks suggesting that native versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S were in development, but were suspended last year.
Interestingly, Rockstar recently released the original Red Dead Redemption on PS4 and Switch. If Red Dead Redemption 2 does indeed come to Switch, it will be intriguing to see the compromises and adjustments needed to make the game compatible with Nintendo’s handheld hardware. There is also the possibility of being a cloud-based version, although it is important to highlight that cloud versions are not normally classified in Brazil.
