Red Bull F1 leader “The relationship between Verstappen and Sainz was unhealthy”[F1-Gate.com]

Red Bull F1 Motorsports Adviser Helmut Marko says how the weakening of Daniil Kvyat at Red Bull Racing and the tensions between the fields of Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz will lead to driver changes in early 2016. he clarified that are connected.

After just four races in the 2016 F1 season, Helmut Marko has decided to demote Kvyat to Toro Rosso and promote Max Verstappen to Red Bull Racing.

Daniil Kvyat was attacked by a rear-end collision with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel at his home race of the F1 Russian Grand Prix, and it was believed that Red Bull had decided to change drivers due to the accident.

However, Helmut Marko revealed in a recent interview with Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport the real reason that led to Max Verstappen’s maiden victory in his first race with Red Bull Racing.

“Kvyat was faster than Ricciardo in his first year at Red Bull,” explained Helmut Marko.

“In the second year, from the first day of testing, he thought he had a brake problem.

“First he lost speed, then an accident happened. Suddenly he felt uncomfortable. We had to react.”

However, Max Verstappen’s promotion to Red Bull Racing proved very helpful in resolving what Helmut Marko felt was a very unhealthy relationship at Toro Rosso.

“Sainz and Verstappen were there at the same time,” he added.

“It wasn’t a healthy relationship with Toro Rosso.”

“On the one hand you had the astute politician Carlos Sainz Sr. and on the other hand you had the emotional Jos Verstappen in three stages. Sometimes things really got out of hand.”

“Max’s promotion eliminated everything at once. Obviously, Sainz Sr. was mad to death and didn’t understand the world anymore.”

“There were times when it seemed like there was always harmony in the outside world, but inside, we had to act tough.”
