The concentration of dust from the Sahara desert arrived in Puebla this Thursday and will affect the northeast region and the center of the state throughout the weekend, reported the Ministry of Environment, Sustainable Development and Land Management (Smadsot).

Through a statement, the Undersecretary for Environmental Management and the Air Quality Directorate indicated that from this Thursday until Saturday June 27 the dust will cause damages to the poblano air, according to estimates by the National Water Commission (Conagua) and the National Center for Disaster Prevention (Cenapred).

Due to such a situation, Puebla authorities recommended wear mouthguards and goggles outdoors, do not exercise outdoors (especially people with chronic respiratory diseases), as well as avoid burning tires or other debris.

Furthermore, they suggested not using fans with blades that generate high air flows and cap drinking water tanks for this phenomenon.
