Reception of students, canteen, extracurricular, crèches …: as will return to school on May 12 in Montluçon

In Montluçon, all nursery and elementary schools will reopen from Tuesday 12 May. Until May 25, they will only welcome students from the Grand Section, CP and CM2.

The only exceptions are the brothers and sisters of schoolchildren in one of these three levels and the children of priority staff (carers, police, rescue workers, etc.).

Less than fifteen students per class

City schools should, however, follow the rules for the number of students per class without too much difficulty.

As expected, there will be no more than fifteen students. You should know that in Montluçon the average class size is twenty students. It would take 75% of the enrollment on May 12 to have fifteen students, but there will be rather seven students per class on average.

Frédéric Laporte (mayor of Montluçon)

Schools expect 30% of the large section, CP and CM2 for this return.

A possible return of CE1 in REP +

Another peculiarity in Montluçon, the teachers of the REP + networks who already have only twelve pupils per class have offered to also welcome pupils from CE1. “It is a great initiative from the teachers. In these priority education networks, there are social issues around school, ”insists Jean-Charles Schill, assistant for school affairs.

Various hygiene and health security measures

In the classes which will be disinfected in the morning before lessons and at the day break, the children will be at least one meter apart. Teachers and officers will wear gloves, masks and visors.

Hydroalcoholic gel will be available in the classes and children will have to wash their hands regularly with soap.

In addition to these measures, parents – including those of kindergarten children – will no longer be able to enter institutions. Ground markings will be drawn in front of the schools to enforce social distancing.

The canteen and extracurricular reception guaranteed but under conditions

The cafeteria (172 registered for May 12) and morning and evening after-school care (90 registered) will be insured only for children whose two parents are working.

The children will be installed by two on tables of four or by three on tables of six, always staggered, in the usual places of catering

Leisure facilities at eight sites instead of two

Also for children whose two parents are working, the Wednesday leisure center will work again. Instead of being done on two sites (Brignat and Les Réaux), it will be dispersed in eight schools (four kindergartens and four elementary). Sixteen children are currently enrolled, five kindergarten students and eleven elementary school students.

During these first two weeks, we will observe how things are going in schools to consider the continuation and the organization that we will put in place on the 25th but with the return of all the students

Jean-Charles Schill (school affairs assistant)

In addition to schools, the three crèches managed by the city of Montluçon will also reopen. Like schools, they should only accommodate around 30% of their enrollment.

Registrations for the canteen, extracurricular reception or leisure reception are made on the Family portal of the city’s website (www.montlucon.com) or by telephone with the Family Relations service on 04.70.02.55. 66.
