BOLASPORT.COM – Indonesian representatives recorded unfavorable results on the first day of the tournament Thailand Open I 2021 which took place at the Impact Arena, Bangkok, Thailand, 12-17 January.

Of the nine representatives who underwent the match on Tuesday (12/1/2021), only four were able to continue their steps to the second round.

The first representative to advance to the next round was Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin.

The Leo / Daniel duet penetrated the last 16 after winning the Red and White derby against Muhammad Shohibul Fikri / Bagas Maulana.

However, Leo / Daniel’s victory did not rub off on the mixed doubles pair Hafiz Faizal / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.

Despite coming with the title of the sixth seed, Hafiz / Gloria failed to overcome the game of India’s representative, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy / Ashwini Ponnappa.

They were also eliminated from the BWF World Tour Super 1000 tournament.

The taps of victory for the Indonesian players returned when Jonatan Christie (men’s singles) and Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto (men’s doubles) played at almost the same time on different fields.

Fajar / Rian who took to field 1 Impact Arena successfully silenced the host representative, Nipitphon Phuangphuapet / Tanupat Viriyangkura, while Jonathan beat Singaporean player, Loh Kean Yew, on field 2.
