Real Mallorca has one new goalkeeper brought in, who had to fend off shots from Mbappé, Neymar and di María in daily training work. As the club announced on Friday (January 21), Sergio Rico on loan from top European club Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season.
Captain Manolo Reina has lost his regular place this season after a few mistakes. The Slovakian Dominik Greif, who was bought for 2.5 million euros in the summer, has not been able to convince so far and is often injured. Most recently, Leo Roman from Ibiza guarded the goal. Sergio Rico should take over the place soon.
Ten appearances in league and cup
The 28-year-old comes from the youth team at FC Sevilla and moved to the French capital in 2019. But there he only had the role as a reservist. He was only the third goalkeeper behind Keylor Navas and Gianluigi Donnarumma. After receiving a red card for Navas, the Spaniard has been allowed to play 22 minutes this season. Last season there were at least ten appearances in the league and three in the cup.
