Real Madrid Confirms Departure of Karim Benzema, 5-Time Champions League Winner & Record-Breaking Striker

Spanish La Liga giant Real Madrid announced that Karim Benzema, whose contract will expire next season, will leave the team this summer. The name of the 35-year-old French striker was associated with Saudi Arabian teams. According to the news in the Spanish media; Benzema will earn 200 million euros annually in Saudi Arabia. Al-Ittihad club will announce the transfer next week.


Benzema became the player to win the most trophies in the club with Real Madrid, to which he transferred at the age of 21 in the summer of 2009.

The French player won the championship 25 times in 14 seasons; 5 Champions Leagues, 5 Club World Cups, 4 UEFA Super Cups, 4 La Liga, 3 King’s Cups and 4 Spanish Super Cups…

The French player became the club’s 5th most-playing player in Real Madrid, where he played 647 games, and became the club’s second all-time top scorer with 353 goals.

Real Madrid will hold a farewell meeting on Tuesday, June 6 at 15:00, with the participation of President Florentino Perez.
