real estate, PMI, confidence and the Fed

On the economic front this Tuesday on Wall Street, the S&P Case-Shiller property price index for the month of September will be released at 3 p.m. (Bloomberg consensus + 1.1% for the 20-City index adjusted for comparison. of the previous month, + 1.2% excluding adjustments). The FHFA (Federal Housing Finance Agency) index for house prices for September will be revealed at the same time (consensus + 1%). The Chicago Manufacturing PMI for November will be announced at 3:45 p.m. (FactSet consensus 67.7). The Conference Board’s consumer confidence index for November will be known at 4 p.m. (consensus 110.3 as measured by FactSet).

The Fed’s Jerome Powell, Richard Clarida and John Williams speak during the day. Janet Yellen, US Secretary of the Treasury, is also expected. Powell gives testimony about the coronavirus and the CARES Act to a Senate committee. Clarida speaks on Fed independence and responsibilities at a Fed event in Cleveland.
