reading books, newspapers, or magazines when eyesight gets worse

What could be better than reading a good book in one sitting? For a real book lover, the answer will not be easy to give. Or maybe you are more of a person who enjoys flipping through a newspaper or magazine over a cup of coffee or tea. But what if the eyes deteriorate? If reading a book, newspaper or magazine becomes more of an effort rather than a relaxing activity? Despite glasses or a magnifying aid. On Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, during an online meeting (webinar), Passend Lezen and Koninklijke Visio will talk about the alternatives available to reading.

Passend Lezen is a national library service for everyone with a reading disability. With an extensive collection of more than 85,000 books, various newspapers and magazines, Passen Lezen helps to keep reading, despite the reading limitation. Koninklijke Visio is a national center of expertise for visually impaired and blind people, including regional centers.

During the online meeting on August 18, you will receive an explanation of how you can make the transition from reading yourself to listening to audiobooks. Also how to borrow and listen to books and other reading material. And what tools or devices are available.

An experience expert will also tell you how he experienced the transition from reading to listening for himself. And that this was far from boring.
