Reader forum: Thanks for personal treatment

The editorial team received the following letter to the editor on the article “Clinical Center at the Limit” from December 15:

Our Main-Spessart Clinic: After a successful hip operation, I fell in the rehab in Bad Kissingen. Admitted to a profit-oriented clinic, I had the opportunity to get to know the somewhat different way of dealing with patients for one night and one day.

The desire to be transferred to Lohr for the operation and not to Würzburg met with total incomprehension and subsequent disregard.

When the patient arrives at the emergency room in our clinic, they experience a completely different, personal treatment. If it didn’t sound so pathetic, you’d have to say you’re home again. A number patient becomes a patient with a number.

I would like to thank the clinic staff very clearly!

With the additional burden in the pandemic time, the low staffing levels and the age of the house, the performance of each individual is worth recognition. This work, done with respect for the patient, cannot be paid for with money alone.

Everyone, starting with the medical profession, through the nurses, the nurses, the students, the assistants and the employees of the specialist departments up to the administration are doing an excellent job in this “Corona time”.

A smile can also be seen behind the mouth and nose protection.

I hope for all of the staff that the upcoming vaccination will help ease the situation.

The political decision for the new clinic has been made. It is to be hoped that the management and the district council live up to their responsibility and contribute with all their might to make it happen! Parties and groups could pursue the same goal during the optional period for the benefit of the citizens and the hospital staff. There is no need for a groundbreaking ceremony that attracts the public. The spades should be used sensibly when planting the avenue trees at the driveway after completion.
