Razer, Qualcomm and Verizon will release 5G Android gaming devices

JawaPos.com – The popularity of mobile games is currently on the rise. In addition to the flexibility factor, nowadays handheld devices are also increasingly sophisticated. This allows mobile devices to process game graphics that were originally only available on consoles or PCs.

As for mobile gaming devices, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Las Vegas some time ago, Verizon announced that it will partner with Qualcomm and Razer.

The collaboration between Verizon, Qualcomm and Razer aims to launch the world’s first 5G gaming portable device to be supported on the Android platform. Furthermore, this gaming laptop will also be the first to use 5G technology.

The new device is dubbed the Razer Edge 5G, with the 5G branding basically meaning that gamers can download games locally and even stream their consoles to access them directly from the cloud via ultra-broadband 5G.

There is currently no news on support for Wifi, but these are the main core features that are likely to appear in upcoming handhelds. If not, it appears that Verizon is restricting network access to its services.

Additionally, the company announced that this portable gaming device will work on Android, but the exact version is still unclear. But Verizon has revealed that the Razer Edge 5G, which was built in collaboration with gaming brand and chipmaker giant Qualcomm, will be announced at RazerCon.

The launch event for this mobile gaming device will begin on October 15th. In other words, the announcement was only a few weeks away.

For your information, Nintendo Switch is the undisputed leader in the handheld gaming console segment so far. So this is a tough market for new Android portable gaming devices to break, and the competition will be interesting.
