Rap group Cypress Hill celebrates anniversary debut album with comic book | NOW

This year it is thirty years ago that Cypress Hill released his debut album. The American rap group is celebrating the milestone with its own comic book to be released later this year, the members announced.

Cypress Hill: Tres Equis, released in English and Spanish, tells the story of the group’s founding in Los Angeles.

“Art has always had a major impact on our lives and our music,” says frontman B-Real. “As children we already read comic books full of heroes who achieve the impossible. Now, thirty years later, I never expected that we would have the opportunity to tell our story in this way ourselves.”

The hip-hop group, known for hits like Insane in the Brain in (Rap) Superstar, released the debut album in 1991 Cypress Hill from. Then eight more records followed. The most recent, Elephants on Acid, appeared in 2018.
