MONACO – as demand for ultra-exclusive experiences surges among high-net-worth travelers, superyachts are increasingly incorporating state-of-the-art cinema facilities. A new ranking by Delius Klasing reveals the ten most lovely onboard cinemas, wiht Shahid Khan’s 122-meter Lürssen, “Kismet,” taking the top spot. The trend reflects a desire for immersive entertainment and privacy,transforming yachts into floating luxury resorts. Charter rates for yachts boasting such amenities can reach upwards of three million euros per week, demonstrating the critically importent value placed on these features.
The ranking highlights a growing investment in onboard entertainment, moving beyond conventional amenities. burgess is currently arranging seven film evenings under sail for clients, priced from 490,000 euros. “Kismet’s” innovative approach – a dual-use space combining film viewing with underwater observation – sets a new standard. Other yachts featured offer everything from open-air projector setups to dedicated Art Deco-styled cinema rooms, catering to a diverse range of cinematic preferences.
“Kismet” owner Shahid Khan opted for a dual-use space on his third Lürssen, delivered in 2024, embracing the motto “Films and the Sea.” The yacht features the Nemo Lounge with three tiers and three 1.1 by 2.8 meter panes of laminated safety glass, up to 15 centimeters thick, offering a unique turtle viewpoint. Khan’s daughter collaborated with Reymond Langton on the Art Deco styling. The owner reportedly considered the potential irony of screening “Titanic” in such an environment.
