Raise Speed ​​Limits for Using Speed ​​Guns on the Cipali Toll Road

MAJALENGKA, KOMPAS.com – Highway Patrol Unit (PJR) Toll Cipali, West Java Police, held a speed limit raid on the Cipali KM 164 toll road in the direction of Palimanan, Thursday (26/11/2020).

This raid aims to emphasize the maximum and minimum speed limits on freeways, where the written rules are that vehicles must run at least 60 kph and a maximum of 100 kph.

Police officers from PJR Polda Jabar, led by Panit PJR Iptu Dasep Rahwan, managed to nab dozens of four-wheeled vehicles caught violating the maximum speed limit.

“This raid is still a warning, meaning that drivers caught violating the maximum speed limit and at least are only given a warning letter, and are not subject to a ticket,” explained Iptu Dasep, Thursday (26/11/2020).

The police on guard were using speed gun, located at KM 164, and vehicles from the direction of Cikampek to Palimanan are directed to enter the KM 166 rest area.

“With this speed gun raid, it is hoped that road users can comply with the speed limit for driving on toll roads. A maximum of 100 kph and a minimum of 60 kph, but during rainy conditions the maximum is 70 kph,” said Andre Yulianto, Dept. Head of Management. Astra Tol Cipali, in its official statement.

In addition to speed limit raids, Astra Tol Cipali in collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and the West Java Regional Police, routinely conducts over dimension and overload (ODOL) enforcement operations for class 2-5 vehicles.

The Cipali Toll Manager has also added safety facilities by installing road dividers which are commonly called wire ropes.

Currently, it has been installed along 44 km until the end of December, 79 km will be installed and it is certain that before Lebaran 2021 wire rope will be installed on the 106 km Cipali Toll Road.
