Police search 20 apartments in Berlin

Early in the morning, the LKA searched several apartments in Berlin with dozens of emergency services. The suspicion: child pornography. It is currently unclear how many suspects are being investigated.

The State Criminal Police Office has been searching several apartments in Berlin since the early morning on suspicion of child and youth pornography. Around 40 emergency services are on the road, the police said on Twitter. Around 20 objects would be searched, said a spokesman. All police departments in the city are involved. It was initially unclear how many suspects were being investigated.

The investigations, which have been ongoing for some time, are therefore concentrated exclusively on the capital. There are no searches in other cities or locations, it said. It was initially unclear whether only apartments, or also business premises or other facilities would be searched.

The police tweeted that it was about the suspicion of “possession, possession and distribution of child pornography and youth pornography”.
