They often come with their own family or friends, so there is little interaction with other visitors, “says Nils Vonder, spokesperson for RAI Amsterdam.

According to Vonder, the advice is especially important at international events. ,, For example at ISE 2020, a professional event with many international organizations and exhibitors. At such events there is more personal contact. There they give each other a hand or even a hug faster. At such an event, more targeted communication is made to apply the hygiene rules. And in the end it is nice to see how people give each other a box instead of a hand. Or a tap with the elbow. ”

Wash hands regularly

RAI Amsterdam closely follows the developments regarding the corona virus. “We are in close contact with specialized bodies and partners, such as RIVM, GGD, the municipality of Amsterdam, Schiphol and KLM to take timely measures and to avoid risks. We use the RIVM and GGD guidelines as a starting point for the precautionary measures to be taken. “

In addition to shaking hands, it is also recommended to wash them regularly, to avoid contact with people with respiratory symptoms and to prevent contact with farm and wild animals. People who already suffer from their respiratory tract are asked to apply extra hygiene rules: “keep your distance, cough and sneeze in a tissue or handkerchief and wash your hands regularly.”

By the way, visitors to the RAI Amsterdam do not have to worry that their outing will be canceled. For the time being all fairs and congresses will continue as usual, although with a small adjustment: keep your hands to yourself.
