Radio 538 market share continues to fall, station already planning to change course | NOW

Radio 538’s market share fell further in the period from April to May. The channel that recently The Coen and Sander Show ceased, amounts to a share of 8.5 percent. Compared to the same period a year earlier, this amounts to a decrease of 1.2 percentage points.

Radio 538 recently announced that it would stop the daily afternoon show of Sander Lantinga and Coen Swijnenberg. Last Thursday was the last regular broadcast.

The duo, which could be heard on both 3FM and Radio 538 for sixteen years, returns after summer back on Friday. Lantinga and Swijnenberg will also work solo.

The market share of the Talpa Network channel has been declining for some time.

NPO Radio 2 remains the market leader with a constant share of 12.4 percent. Qmusic is creeping closer again and goes from 11.1 to 11.9 percent. With a market share of 10 percent, Radio 10 is the number three. Radio 538 is the fourth station.

In the commercial target group 20 to 49 years, Qmusic is the market leader with a share of 20.8 percent.
